Senior Civil Engineer Project Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer Project Manager to lead land development, transportation, and infrastructure projects for government, institutional, commercial, and private sector clients. This role combines project management, technical design leadership, and business development responsibilities, with the opportunity to mentor junior staff and grow within a collaborative, award-winning civil engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead civil engineering projects from concept through permitting, design, and construction support.
Manage all aspects of land development and site design projects including drafting, design, quality review, and project coordination.
Prepare and review construction documents, engineering reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
Perform and oversee engineering calculations for site grading, utilities, stormwater management, and roadway design.
Review and analyze maps, surveys, test results, and as-built drawings.
Provide post-design construction support, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, and field observations.
Establish and manage budgets, schedules, and labor projections.
Ensure quality assurance/quality control across all deliverables.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, architects, landscape architects, and environmental specialists.
Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
Support business development activities including client engagement, proposal development, and relationship building.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
6+ years of progressive civil engineering experience with demonstrated project management responsibilities.
Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation/InRoads.
Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles, site development, utilities, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and permitting processes.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and client-facing skills.
