    Position Overview

Are you ready to transcend the role of a traditional engineer and step into a definitive track toward firm ownership? We are seeking a visionary Senior Electrical Engineer to spearhead complex design initiatives and serve as a technical cornerstone for our Charlotte operations. This is not merely a production role; it is a high-impact leadership mission designed for an entrepreneurial professional ready to transition into principal ownership within a 2–5 year window. You will architect the future of critical infrastructure while steering the technical evolution of a high-performing MEP team.

Joining our team means entering a legacy of technical excellence where 40% of your colleagues are licensed PEs with nearly two decades of individual expertise. The firm provides a sophisticated, integrated platform—utilizing VR visualization and proprietary design software—to solve the intricate challenges of modern healthcare and laboratory environments. Here, your work goes beyond calculations; you are building a personal and professional legacy within one of the Southeast’s most dynamic engineering hubs.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Design Leadership: Architect and oversee comprehensive electrical systems for high-stakes projects in the healthcare, institutional, and science/tech sectors.

    • Strategic Mentorship: Steer the professional development of junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical rigor and cross-disciplinary innovation.

    • Client Stewardship: Act as the primary technical liaison to build and sustain high-trust relationships, ensuring project outcomes exceed client expectations and drive repeat business.

    • Full-Lifecycle Management: Integrate complex systems from initial concept through construction administration, balancing sophisticated technical quality with rigorous budget and schedule constraints.

    • Business Integration: Partner with executive leadership to influence business development strategies and the firm’s long-term growth trajectory.

    • Field Oversight: Conduct strategic site visits across the Carolinas to ensure design intent is flawlessly implemented during the construction phase.

    • Technical Innovation: Utilize cutting-edge BIM and Revit workflows to enhance project delivery and maintain the firm’s competitive edge in the AEC market.

    • Experience: 8–10+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience within a consulting environment.

    • Sector Expertise: Proven track record in the design of healthcare, institutional, lab, or large-scale multifamily facilities.

    • Software Proficiency: Advanced command of Revit and BIM-integrated design tools.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Multi-State Licensure: Ability or willingness to obtain NCEES record for licensure in additional states.

    • Advanced Systems Knowledge: Specific experience with complex emergency power systems, lighting controls, and low-voltage integration in clinical settings.
