Compensation: $100,000 – $150,000 (based on experience)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Commercial Center of Excellence (COE). This position plays a critical leadership role within our team, providing mentorship, technical oversight, and quality assurance for a range of mechanical design projects.
This is an on-site role based in either our Lakewood or Fort Collins office. The offices are approximately an hour apart, offering flexibility in work location while maintaining close collaboration with the design team.
A strong in-office presence is essential to effectively lead, mentor, and support the mechanical engineering team.
Key ResponsibilitiesMentorship & Leadership: Guide and support mechanical engineers and designers through technical coaching, project feedback, and professional development.
Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC): Review mechanical designs, calculations, and documentation to ensure compliance with company standards, building codes, and project requirements.
Project Oversight: Oversee the design and coordination of mechanical systems for commercial and institutional projects across multiple sectors.
Production Support: Contribute to project deliverables as needed, including mechanical design, documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure project success, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject-matter expert for HVAC, plumbing, and energy systems design within the COE.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
8+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design and engineering for building systems.
Proven track record of mentoring engineers and managing QA/QC processes.
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide teams effectively in an in-person environment.
Proficiency in mechanical design tools and software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, and relevant load calculation tools).
Experience with commercial, hospitality, multifamily, K–12, custom residential, or healthcare projects preferred.
Primary work location: Lakewood or Fort Collins, CO (flexibility between offices).
Regular in-office presence required to support and oversee design staff.
