    Position Overview

Are you a technical visionary ready to command the life-safety and infrastructure heart of high-profile South Florida developments? We are seeking a Plumbing & Fire Protection Design Manager to serve as a cornerstone of our Hollywood-based leadership team. In this role, you aren’t just overseeing pipes and sprinklers—you are architecting safety and efficiency for the complex environments where people live, work, and heal. You will bridge the gap between high-level firm strategy and day-to-day technical excellence, ensuring that every schematic reflects the highest standard of engineering integrity.

Joining our team means immersing yourself in a culture that has defined the MEP landscape for over 30 years. At the firm, you will find an environment where "Engineering is in our DNA" and where your ability to mentor the next generation of designers is as valued as your technical prowess. This is a legacy-building opportunity for a senior professional to take full ownership of the design lifecycle, driving innovation across a diverse portfolio that spans from luxury hospitality to critical healthcare infrastructure.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Strategic Design Leadership: Direct the evolution of plumbing and fire protection system designs, transforming complex requirements into high-performance schematics and technical layouts.

    • Operational Excellence: Steer the day-to-day operations of the design division, ensuring all projects are executed with precision, on schedule, and aligned with the firm's rigorous quality standards.

    • Multidisciplinary Integration: Serve as the primary technical liaison, coordinating with internal mechanical and electrical teams, clients, and consultants to ensure seamless system integration.

    • Mentorship & Team Growth: Supervise and cultivate a high-achieving design staff, providing the technical coaching and performance management necessary to build a premier engineering unit.

    • Project Stewardship: Manage the full project lifecycle—from initial site surveys and system selection to final construction administration, including shop drawing reviews and field observations.

    • Quality & Compliance: Direct the rigorous application of building codes and fire safety standards, ensuring every deliverable is not only efficient and cost-effective but fully compliant.

    Required Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.

    • Licensure: Active Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly preferred.

    • Experience: Minimum 8+ years of expertise in plumbing and fire protection design, with at least 2 years in a dedicated Lead Designer or supervisory capacity.

    • Software Proficiency: Expert-level command of AutoCAD and Revit; highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for project management and reporting.

    • Technical Authority: Demonstrated success managing multiple engineering projects of varying complexity within the AEC industry.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Sector Expertise: Specialized experience in high-rise residential, hospitality, or healthcare facility design.

    • Advanced Certifications: CPD (Certified Plumbing Designer) or NICET certifications in Fire Protection.

    • Regional Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Florida Building Codes and South Florida regional design standards.
