    Location: Newark, CA
    Reports To: Vice President, National Service Operations
    Salary Range: $130,000 - $170,000 annually

    Overview:
    We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Operations Manager to lead and optimize the daily operations of our service facility in Newark, California. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of service shop performance including operational efficiency, team management, safety compliance, customer satisfaction, and business development. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in automotive or motor vehicle service management, a proven track record in P&L responsibility, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams while driving continuous improvement and revenue growth.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Operations & Facility Management

    • Direct all service shop activities, ensuring operational excellence in safety, cleanliness, efficiency, and profitability

    • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures to optimize workflow and productivity

    • Manage preventive maintenance programs for all facility systems, tools, and equipment

    • Monitor and maintain facility appearance and functionality, including buildings and grounds

    Team Leadership & Development

    • Lead, train, and mentor a team of service technicians, shop personnel, and support staff

    • Drive a high-performance culture focused on accountability, safety, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement

    • Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and corrective action as needed

    • Facilitate ongoing technical training and soft skill development for service personnel

    Customer & Business Development

    • Actively seek new service contracts and client relationships aligned with facility capacity and capabilities

    • Partner with sales and marketing to promote service offerings and generate revenue

    • Maintain close communication with key clients to ensure satisfaction and address service concerns promptly

    • Represent the company in a professional manner and promote a customer-first culture

    Compliance & Safety Oversight

    • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and local regulatory requirements

    • Develop and enforce safety protocols, audit readiness, and risk mitigation strategies

    • Maintain records and reports in accordance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines

    Financial & Strategic Oversight

    • Manage location-level profit and loss (P&L), budgeting, and cost controls

    • Analyze financial reports and operational KPIs to identify trends and areas for improvement

    • Collaborate with corporate leadership to develop strategic plans and execute operational initiatives

    Technology & Systems Utilization

    • Champion the use of business systems (Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle, etc.) to improve workflow, reporting, and decision-making

    • Ensure staff are trained on and consistently utilize automated service and reporting systems

    • Identify technology gaps and recommend solutions to enhance service efficiency

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred)

    • 5+ years of management experience in the automotive, truck, or heavy equipment service industry

    • Demonstrated P&L ownership and budget management experience

    • Solid understanding of vehicle operating systems, maintenance programs, and industry best practices

    • ASE certification or technical training is highly desirable

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead diverse teams

    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle, and industry-specific service software

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work both indoors and outdoors as needed
