Position Overview
Step into a pivotal field leadership role where you will command the nightly execution of a massive, high-profile construction initiative. As the 2nd Shift Site Superintendent, you will drive on-site operations, seamlessly orchestrating foremen, field engineers, and specialized trade partners to turn visionary blueprints into built realities. Core Responsibilities
Command on-site operations by proactively directing, planning, and supervising all 2nd shift field activities alongside foremen, field engineers, and multidisciplinary trade subcontractors.
Champion a proactive safety culture, administering strict OSHA compliance and internal safety programs to ensure a secure, hazard-free environment for all personnel.
Drive project velocity and precision by establishing site utilization plans, optimizing crew sizes, and rigorously managing 3-week look-aheads, project schedules, and daily field reporting.
Safeguard project financials by partnering with project management to budget, forecast, and control subcontractor labor, equipment, materials, and general conditions.
Enforce uncompromising quality control through frequent, meticulous inspections of work-in-progress, ensuring all installations strictly adhere to design plans, engineering specifications, and industry standards.
Integrate cross-disciplinary efforts seamlessly, bridging the gap between the design/engineering teams and field execution to resolve on-site challenges swiftly.
Cultivate high-performing teams by coaching, mentoring, and training field personnel while developing robust, collaborative relationships with clients, contractors, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
8–10 years of proven supervisory experience managing large-scale projects for a General Contractor or Construction Manager.
Deep technical understanding of field construction systems, general engineering principles, construction techniques, materials, and sequencing.
Working knowledge of basic scheduling techniques, including the Critical Path Method (CPM).
Strong capability to accurately interpret complex architectural and engineering construction documents.
Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
Willingness and ability to lead operations and field teams during the 2nd shift.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated expertise in diverse project types, specifically large-scale industrial, manufacturing, food processing, or warehouse/distribution facilities.
Proven success leading Design-Build initiatives and associated interior build-outs.
Proficiency in MS Project and Procore project management software.
OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
