Job Title: Studio Director – Healthcare Architecture

Salary Range: $130,000 – $180,000 (commensurate with experience)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Studio Director to lead our Healthcare Architecture studio. The ideal candidate is a Registered Architect with a strong portfolio of mid to large-scale hospital and healthcare projects and a proven track record of leadership, client management, and studio growth. This role combines high-level design oversight with operational and business management responsibilities. You will be instrumental in advancing our healthcare practice, mentoring staff, and delivering world-class environments that support healing and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Studio Management
Provide strategic direction and leadership to the healthcare studio.
Manage team performance, studio profitability, and utilization targets.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance studio culture.
Project Oversight
Oversee all phases of healthcare projects, from planning through construction administration.
Ensure design excellence, technical quality, code compliance, and client satisfaction.
Serve as the Principal-in-Charge or Project Executive on major hospital projects.
Client Engagement & Business Development
Maintain and grow strong client relationships within the healthcare sector.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
Lead proposal development, fee negotiations, and presentations.
Mentorship & Team Development
Mentor and support professional growth of junior and mid-level architects.
Provide guidance on project staffing, career development, and licensure.
Champion continuing education and knowledge-sharing within the studio.
Collaboration & Coordination
Work closely with firm leadership and other studio directors to align goals and resources.
Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
Qualifications:
Registered Architect in the U.S. (NCARB certification preferred).
12+ years of architectural experience with a focus on healthcare; at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Deep expertise in mid to large-scale hospital design, including acute care, surgical, and outpatient facilities.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver complex projects on time and on budget.
Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, FGI guidelines, and sustainability principles.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and project management software.
