Location: Apex, North Carolina (Serving projects throughout NC and the East Coast)

Compensation Range: $34.00 – $40.00 per hour, based on experience and technical capability

We are seeking an experienced Survey Project Manager to help lead survey operations, manage client relationships, and deliver accurate, high-quality survey projects on time and within budget.
Position Summary
The Survey Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of land surveying projects from initial scope through final delivery. This role blends technical expertise, project management, and team leadership, serving as the primary point of contact for clients while ensuring survey deliverables meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
This position is ideal for a survey professional who enjoys owning projects end-to-end, leading teams, and contributing to continuous process improvement—without the requirement of a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
Manage all phases of surveying projects, including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and close-out.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards and local/state regulations.
Coordinate internal resources, field crews, and technical staff to meet project milestones.
Team Leadership & Oversight
Lead, mentor, and support surveyors, technicians, and support staff.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide technical guidance as needed.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary client liaison, maintaining proactive communication and strong working relationships.
Address client questions, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical Oversight & Quality Control
Provide technical review and quality assurance of survey deliverables.
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software to support project workflows, data processing, and plan preparation.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all survey documentation.
Process Improvement & Innovation
Support continuous improvement initiatives by adopting new technologies, tools, and best practices.
Help improve operational efficiency, data accuracy, and project delivery methods.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience managing land surveying projects in a professional environment.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Demonstrated leadership experience supervising survey teams or project staff.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
Strong understanding of surveying standards, practices, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience working on projects across North Carolina or the East Coast.
Familiarity with modern surveying technologies, equipment, and data collection methods.
Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license not required, but welcomed if obtained.
