Position Overview
Our client, RDC, a long-established architecture and design firm, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a growing portfolio of placemaking and mixed-use projects. This role serves as the primary client liaison and project leader, overseeing project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and the development of team talent. You’ll collaborate with architects, technical directors, and operations leadership to ensure projects meet design, financial, and client objectives.
This position is ideal for an experienced architectural professional who thrives on leadership, technical execution, and driving high-quality, client-focused outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
Serve as the primary client liaison, managing expectations and ensuring project goals are met.
Lead project teams on new construction and adaptive reuse projects from concept through completion.
Oversee project schedules, documentation, staffing, and resource allocation.
Estimate fees, determine scopes of work, and negotiate contracts with clients.
Maintain continuous flow of critical project information and reporting to operations leadership.
Technical & Quality Oversight
Collaborate with Project Architects and Technical Directors to ensure quality review milestones are met.
Direct preparation and submission of bid documents, RFI responses, and addenda.
Oversee construction contract administration and attend construction meetings as required.
Evaluate innovative products, energy-efficient solutions, cost-saving measures, and departmental process improvements.
Team Development & Mentorship
Assist staff in developing industry knowledge and architectural skills.
Provide leadership by example and foster learning related to codes, technologies, and materials.
Review weekly timesheets, monthly billing, and ensure project documentation aligns with firm standards.
Business Development
Pursue new project opportunities with existing clients and contribute to firm growth initiatives.
Required Qualifications
12+ years of progressive experience in architectural practice, leading renovation and new construction projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program preferred.
Licensed Architect or pursuing licensure preferred.
Advanced knowledge of architectural detailing, construction standards, and agency review processes.
Strong leadership, communication, and business-writing skills.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with SketchUp, Photoshop, or 3D visualization software preferred.
Knowledge of building codes, energy analysis, and jurisdictional processes.
