Key Tasks & Responsibilities: Projects vary in scope based on the business needs. Participants will learn and utilize Scrum principles and tools (Microsoft VSTS) and DevOps principles such as team standups and sprint planning. Below are some examples of projects and responsibilities: * Application Delivery: Participants will have the opportunity to learn about our software delivery processes including the role of Software Developers, Business Systems Analysts, UI Designers and Project Managers. Rotations will include hands on experience delivering applications utilizing our agile delivery methodology (based on the principles of Scrum) including writing code, conducting business process design and analysis and UI/UX design. Assignments will vary based on the company's need but will include some level of systems exposure in the following areas: CRM, ERP, digital marketing, lighting specification tools and lighting and controls product development. * Database Engineering: Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the role of our Database Engineers and Administrators. Hands on experience will include database design and analysis, introduction to SQL/TQL and database administration for many types of databases including Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2 and Oracle. * Enterprise Support Services: Participants will have the opportunity to rotate through many groups including Network Engineering, cyber-security, and application support and hardware services. * Enterprise Performance Management: Participants will have the opportunity to learn about Acuity Brand's Enterprise Performance Management and Business Intelligence systems. Hands on experience may include advanced SQL development, report/KPI design and "Big Data" architecture. * Dev Ops: Learn and utilize various programming languages while working on business need based projects. Participants will also aid with the monitoring and deployment of our apps, and automate functions to ensure standard processes across the entire department.
