We unleash the full potential of our people.If you’d like to help us change the way the world sees, this is your chance to Be Brilliant!Position Description:The Alcon R&D team is looking for numerous talented and motivated Engineering interns to join us onsite for 10-12 weeks in Summer 2022 at the Johns Creek, GA / Lake Forest or Belmont, CA / Sinking Spring, PA / Fort Worth, TX locations. Alcon interns will have the opportunity to not only gain industry experience and network with other Alcon professionals, but will also have the chance to make a real-world impact by working on meaningful projects that will help patients and customers see brilliantly. Alcon also offers interns personal and professional development, high visibility and coaching and mentoring opportunities.We are looking to fill positions with students from the following engineering majors: Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Optics/Optical Engineering, Opto-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Vision Science, Optometry, and related majors.Job Description at Fort Worth, Texas location: The intern will be assisting in development of lubricous coatings to aid lens delivery in new products. Assist in developing testing methods to characterize material properties and coating uniformity. Under direction of Sr. Engineer, design, plan and execute experiments to answer key feasibility questions.Minimum Qualifications:Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship, and at least one additional semester following your internship.Must be pursuing at least Bachelors’ or a Masters in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical and Biomedical Engineering Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis. Students on an F1 visa with CPT work authorization may be accommodated.Ability to commit to a 10-12 week, full time (40 hrs per week) summer internship
