If you’d like to help us change the way the world sees, this is your chance to Be Brilliant!Position Description:Alcon is looking for a passionate critical thinker interested in learning about Alcon’s products Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) and Software in a Medical Device (SiMD) to join the Alcon Product Security team. This individual will contribute to Alcon’s medical devices by building test procedures for product security requirements and verifying these tests with products.Responsibilities will include:Becoming familiar with the product security requirements, SIMD/SaMD third party software/open source softwareWriting the test procedure for the requirementsTesting the procedures to determine the testing is verifying the requirementsCreating documents that allows others to execute the test plan and proceduresMinimum Qualifications:Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship or co-op, and at least one additional semester following internship or co-op.Must be pursuing at least a Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Product Security, Software Engineering, Product Development, Information Management, Mathematics, Data Science or related major.Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated)Ability to commit to a 10-12 week, full time (40 hours per week) summer internshipPreferred Qualifications:Strong learning agility & desire to learnStrong analytical skillsStrong technical aptitudePrior product/software engineering experienceBasic Programming skillsCreative problem-solving skillsPrior experience or understanding of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning principlesIdeal candidate will have an understanding of Cybersecurity and/or Regulatory AffairsEqual Employment Opportunity: Alcon is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-Verify.
