  • Responsibilities

    JOB SUMMARY:

    • Assures customer service focused care to customers and patients served.
    • Maintains cash register and follows cash handling procedures as scheduled.
    • Assemble trays, checking for accuracy and run the Dispatcher station as scheduled.
    • Maintains all food and non-food supplies for assigned work areas.
    • Record food and equipment temperatures as assigned and report substandard ones to appropriate person.
    • Communicates effectively with all to ensure smooth food service delivery.
    • Follows sanitation and hygiene guidelines.
    • Limited protected health information access.

    JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES:

    • Completes all work sheets and logs as required.
    • Stocks, refills, checks for expiration dates and cleans work stations daily or as needed. Checks for expiration dates.
    • Accurately records refrigerator & freezer temperatures & reports substandard ones.
    • Assists the Expediter in building trays following diet guidelines.
    • Follows menu for regular and modified diets to assemble trays neatly and accurately to include allergies, portion control and type of food/condiment allowed for each diet.
    • Inventories, stocks and/or documents assigned nourishment pantries or work areas with supplies while following par levels, recording, dating, labeling and discarding foods per department policy.
    • Assists in setting up food serving area in a timely manner and portions food according to standards for customers.
    • As cashier operates cash register and follows cash handling procedures.
    • As cashier keeps up with current food pricing.
    • Follows all sanitizing and hygiene guidelines.
    • Cleans floors, walls, ceiling, equipment following tasks list as developed.
    • Assist where needed as a team member in the Food Nutrition Service Department.

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:  N/A

    EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent. 

    EXPERIENCE:  At least one year of related experience is preferred.  Prior experience in handling cash and using cash register is preferred. Basic computer skills are beneficial.  Following completion of training, job competency must be demonstrated in actual task completion. Requires high level of maturity in constant dealing with customers and patients. Must demonstrate knowledge of problem solving and decision-making.  Must be able to respond appropriately in highly stressful situations. Demonstrates strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively. Must have basic math skills and be able to perform simple calculations.
