    JMT's York Facilities-MEP Team is seeking an experienced Project Engineer with the desire to work within a fast-paced quality driven environment within a growing organization. Working with senior engineering and management staff from the initial conceptual mechanical design to construction and commissioning of large and small facilities type projects. The Project Engineer will have the opportunity work with a diverse and experienced staff in resolving a variety of complex problems, (i.e. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements) while benefitting from a solid quality control process. The ideal candidate is an individual with the motivation and desire to excel within the consulting engineering field while embracing challenges as opportunities for personal and professional growth within the organization. Typical work assignments center around facilities engineering and design projects of varying sizes within the educational, public works, water/wastewater, transportation, transit, health care and aviation industries. JMT is seeking candidates with a wide range of design and engineering experience in the educational, commercial, industrial, transportation, and public works industries.

    • Proficiency in technical management and interdisciplinary coordination of facilities engineering projects
    • Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced cooperative team environment spanning across multiple disciplines
    • Desire to participate and excel with a broad range of project types, roles, customers, and tasks
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, and building load analysis and evaluation (ex: Carrier HAP, Trane Trace) software along with computing production tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Able to open, navigate, and make minor modifications in Revit
    • Understanding and application of International Codes (ICC), ASHRAE Guidelines, and NFPA Codes for completing mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design work

    Required Experience

    • Experience with design and construction of Chilled Water, Steam, and Hot Water central plant systems
    • Experience with design and construction of HVAC systems for various office and industrial environments
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field from an ABET accredited program is required
    • Minimum 6 years of experience in the commercial and industrial building industry related to HVAC, building mechanical, plumbing, and other associated systems
    • Active/Current Professional Engineer Licensure Required (MD & PA Preferred or willing to obtain after hire)
    • LEED accreditation is a plus but not required

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Work is performed within a general office environment 90% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may be required as needed.

    Travel will be required periodically for site visits and client meetings and may include air travel within the country.
