The Furniture Repair Technician is located in the warehouse working with personnel to do minor furniture repair on all types of product damage, including handling or damages that may occur with furniture purchased from HomeStore during transit. Types of products included are case goods, upholstery and leather goods. Responsible For: The Furniture Repair Technician is primarily responsible for the repair of case goods, leather and upholstery furniture. Accountable For: The Furniture Repair Technician is accountable for the repair of case goods, leather and upholstery furniture in an effective and timely manner according to Ashley HomeStore SOPs. The Furniture Repair Technician is accountable to keep their work area/shop clean and organized in order to operate in a Lean and safe manner. Job Functions Performs warehouse furniture repairs. Is able to burn in small scratches, repairs cracks and splits on edges, repairs small leather/vinyl defects utilizing heat cure, adds graining on edge piece repairs, blend colors and sheen in small areas. Performs simple replacement part repairs. Performs minor repair of all types of furniture in the warehouse as needed for home delivery and customer pick-up. Conducts physical inspections of products to identify damaged goods, performs touch-ups and repairs as needed on products. Documents and follows through on reoccurring product damages. Maintains a clean organized work area and tool cart. Tracks and monitors replacement parts. Ensures machinery maintenance. Understands and complies with all policies. Maintains a professional image. Assists other technicians. Accurately reports situations that occur when repairs can not be completed. Must be able to assess damages to determine the most efficient way to repair them. Identifies damage, loss or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse. Demonstrate the Companys Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions. Maintains proper safety usage of all products that are used within the department. Maintain reliable attendance. Actively participate in departmental meetings, training and education. Assist with training other employees and providing backup. Complete other assignments and special projects as requested. Job Requirements Job Requirements Education High School graduate or GED Experience 1 2 years of furniture repair experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Effective time management and organizational skills Work independently as well as in a team environment Analytical and problem solving skills Maintain confidentiality Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, internet Perform under strong demands in a fast-paced environment Furniture repairs Good oral and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Strong attention to details Must be able to properly identify colors We are an equal opportunity employer and provide a drug free working environment.
