JOB DESCRIPTION

The Home Office Accounting Operations Team is responsible for all company brands worldwide. The Team includes Revenue Accounting, Real Estate Accounting, Accounts Payable, Capital Asset Accounting, Payroll Accounting & Inventory Control departments. The Real Estate Accounting Associate Financial Analyst position is responsible for financial accounting processes and reporting related to store occupancy expenses and external landlord sales reporting. The successful candidate will need a mix of accounting, finance & operational skills as the role is a hybrid covering each of those areas.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• In charge of accounting, budgeting, and forecasting for store related variable occupancy expenses for all brands worldwide
• Lead preparer of external sales reporting with our global landlords responsible for ensuring sales are communicated timely and accurately with lease terms
• Supporting the period-end and year-end close processes for leases and lease related expense by preparing reconciliations for related balance sheet accounts
• Understanding local statutory accounting requirements for lease accounting in more than 20 different countries
• Working with global teams to establish controls necessary to capture all new leases and any modifications on a timely basis
• Preparing and maintaining lease accounting policies and procedures, as well as participating in training of relevant finance personnel worldwide
• Supporting ad-hoc lease accounting-related requests and development of new functionalities and reporting capabilities within the Company's CoStar lease accounting system

WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO BRING?

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
• Self-starter - able to independently learn, work & plan with minimal guidance to drive projects to conclusion
• Organized with the ability to multi-task & problem solve in a fast-paced environment
• Must be a strong communicator both verbally and in written form as role will have interaction with key stakeholders both internal and external to A&F.
• Must demonstrate at intermediate level understanding of accounting theory specifically U.S. GAAP
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel skills
• Hyperion and/or Co-Star working knowledge a plus
• A collaborative approach to working with cross-functional partners to achieve the vision of the brand
