    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Credit Manager to lead our global Credit department. This individual will play a key role in driving credit strategy, managing risk exposure, supporting wholesale growth, and optimizing customer satisfaction and collections. This position partners closely with Sales, Operations, Red Wing Business Advantage Account teams, and the Corporate Controller to ensure effective credit and collections practices are in place, while fostering a customer-centric approach.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of credit policies, procedures (SOPs), and internal controls.
    • Approve credit limits and payment terms, and evaluate the risk exposure of counterparties.
    • Analyze aging reports and other credit/sales metrics to develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Review and approve credit write-offs within authorization limits.
    • Oversee bankruptcy claim filings, monitor legal developments, and collaborate with General Counsel as needed.
    • Manage the relationship with our third-party billing and collections provider for industrial accounts.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Experience, and Accounts Receivable teams to optimize collections, resolve escalations, and support sales growth.
    • Prepare monthly Allowance for Doubtful Accounts analysis, including identifying specific reserves and developing assumptions for general reserves.
    • Work with Business Technology on system implementation, optimization, and automation of credit processes.
    • Participate in or lead cross-functional projects that support business growth, continuous improvement, and compliance initiatives.
    • Communicate departmental strategy and performance goals, coach and develop team members, and ensure alignment across subsidiaries.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of credit and collections experience.
    • Proven track record in high-volume billing and receivables operations.
    • Strong knowledge of UCC, credit/collections principles, and business law.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting financial statements for credit underwriting.
    • Familiarity with credit reporting agencies (e.g., D&B, NACM, Experian).
    • Experience with UCC filings and personal guarantees.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Advanced Excel proficiency; working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and other business tools.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, including active listening.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a dynamic environment.
    • Strong understanding of internal controls in billing and AR processes.
    • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience leading successful teams.
    • Background in manufacturing with global and retail distribution.
    • Recent experience with companies of $500 million+ in revenue.
