Distribution Center Generalist Daiso Distribution - La Mirada, CA 90638 $11 an hour - Full-time, Part-time Job Summary A generalist is assigned a core work area, but is required to be cross-trained and able to fulfill needs in all areas of the Distribution Center (DC). A Generalist is responsible for the fulfillment, packing, and verification for all orders. They are involved in every aspect of moving product in the DC, from inbounding to outbounding. This position requires the team member to gain knowledge of and adhere to standard operational procedures (SOPs) while also maintaining operational efficiency (timeliness) and safety. Generalists are expected to perform multiple, sometimes non-routine tasks, that in many cases require judgment and accuracy in fulfilling orders. Generalists also must be able to be certified and operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts) and/or other warehouse equipment (pallet wrappers, push-carts, manual pallet jacks, etc.) in a safe manner. Duties and Responsibilities * Meet minimum time-based metrics for various departments (i.e. picking at least 100 boxes/hour) * Fulfill, pick, pack, verify, and record necessary data for all orders * Attend work consistently on-time and follow attendance policy, including accurate and neat timekeeping * Follow leaderships operational instructions to ensure a smooth and efficient process * Prepare necessary documentation that supports the fulfillment and shipment tasks

• Adhere to standard operation procedures (SOPs) and department operating procedures * Assure accurate inventory counts and inventory balance information is maintained and reported using information in the warehouse management system per Standard Work Instructions/Standard Operating Procedure instructions * Assist in assuring a safe working environment, including following working practices that comply with Cal-OSHA and federal law * Practice good housekeeping and cleanliness in work area * Maintain equipment as necessary and use carefully to avoid damage to equipment and property * Attend, participate, and successfully complete all training sessions Education and Experience Requirements * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) ANDone to three months related experience and/or training ORequivalent combination of education and experience Skills, Aptitudes, and Mental Requirements Computing/Math Skills: * Count precisely in a fast-paced environment * Think and reason critically * Perform basic mental math using whole numbers (multiplication, division, addition, subtraction) * Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals * Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions * Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Language/Comprehension & Aptitude: * Reading: Read and interpret documents and signs in English or Japanese such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Writing: Ability to complete routine report work documents in English or Japanese * Listening/Speaking: Ability to communicate in English or Japanese with other team members, leadership, vendors, and customers; ability to comprehend and follow verbal instructions.
