Studio Intern Department: Studio - West North Ave, Chicago IL Location: Chicago, IL Design Within Reach's Chicago Studio is hiring an intern! Our studio internship program is a comprehensive and immersive six-month program that is specifically designed to give you the opportunity to learn and grow with the best in modern design. You'll work with your team to make an impact by supporting your studio's initiatives in a variety of day to day tasks and take responsibility for projects from start to finish through the duration of the program. DWR's studio internship program gives design focused students the chance to interact with and learn from industry leaders. All internship opportunities are paid positions. Our Studios serve as both a retail environment and as community centers for design, inviting constant interaction between the customer, our furniture, and our team. DWR's Studio team is made up of product and sales experts who work to tell the story behind the product by esteemed designers such as Charles and Ray Eames and Jens Risom as well as leading manufacturers like Herman Miller and Knoll. The Studio Intern will be responsible for learning and assisting with various aspects of sales operations within the retail studio and providing support to the Studio Proprietor and Studio Account Executives. As a Studio intern, you'll assist with various projects that will help generate sales and provide exceptional customer service to all customers consistent with the Design Within Reach mission. What you'll do: * You'll have opportunities to learn, solve problems, grow and build relationships every day as you... * Assist with hosting clients in the DWR studio. * Assist with back office Studio operations such as organizing all fabric swatch samples, keeping an accurate inventory of swatches on hand and placing replenishment orders. * Maintain an inventory of studio marketing collateral such as catalogs, product samples, and all office supplies. * Tag all furniture on the studio floor, ensuring accurate vendor information and product description. * Assist in building and maintaining current relationships with trade industry contacts in the local area.
