  • Responsibilities

    DESIGNER – INTIMATES

    Supports and owns Target Owned Brand product brands and categories that achieve overall product design strategy and merchant objectives. Under the overall direction of Design leadership, supports and owns an assigned category, brand, business or guest segment, and manages own process and calendar.

    • Diligent approach to workload, maintaining good, timely communication with business partners, team members and CFTs
    • Support and own product, brand, trend and guest research
    • Has familiarity with the industry and stays abreast of intimates material, silhouette, and details trends, utilizing: trend resources, blogs, shopping US market, market intel, vendor partners, social media influencers, etc.
    • Is able to communicate a trend story
    • Strong eye for print and pattern
    • Understands the brand aesthetic
    • Help create color palette and concept direction within the brand room for the brand
    • Support and own elements of the design process: select materials, create silhouette, select colors to dip and print options for merchant to assert
    • Translate ideas quickly, working in a clear and logical way using CAD/hand sketches for vendor direction or technical packs
    • Support and own preparation of working boards (digital and/or physical) with illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication and/or garment samples
    • Support and own brand cohesion; partners with peers across the division to ensure continuity
    • Support and own product designs for merchant line plans, assortment strategies, price points and overall creative direction
    • Support and own design concept through to production process
    • Support and own collaborating with TD and TSS to identify, troubleshoot and resolve product issues
    • Input and maintain accurate information in CADs in collab folders, and potentially in a PLM system
    • Overseas travel to develop product with our key partners 1-2 times yearly

  • Qualifications

    Requirements

    • 4 year Design, Fine Art or similar degree
    • Previous years of experience
    • Proficient in Adobe illustrator and Photoshop
    • Demonstrated high taste level and creative ability
    • Understanding of intimate apparel, textiles, garment construction/fit
    • Experience working as a product designer in retail or product development
    • Experience assimilating product feedback
    • Demonstrated ability to research and apply market/trend information
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate efficiently with peers and successfully work in a team environment
    • Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative and cost-effective design solutions
