ABOUT THIS JOB QUALIFICATIONS ABOUT THIS JOB Description At DICKâ??S Sporting Goods, interns have the opportunity to work with and learn from the leaders of a growing Fortune 400 company. DICKâ??S Sporting Goods is returning to campus this year; to recruit, train and develop top collegiate talent to help fuel the Digital Transformation of a multi-billion dollar omni-channel business. During the 11-week summer experience, interns will embark on a meaningful journey and make tangible contributions to the organizationâ??s success. This structured and well-organized program provides on-the-job training, mentorship, classroom instruction, cross-functional departmental exposure and an end-of-program project presentation The intern will act as a software engineer for a designated technical area. They will get an opportunity to exercise their skills with programming, operating systems and databases by participating in all facets of the software development lifecycle. This includes designing, coding, testing, configuring and maintaining customer facing applications. The intern will work closely with the DSG team on the technical solutions to experience engineering best practices. Day to Day Responsibilities: * Designing, coding and unit testing functionality and/or integrations between systems * Assisting in implementation and maintenance efforts * Providing assistance and routine consultation to internal business users of applications * Working with cross functional team members to develop system and software designs * Resolving technical issues raised by the production support team * Assess complexity of new functionality requested by product management Some of your experiences will include: * Multi day intern orientation to introduce you to the company, the program, Pittsburgh, and your classmates * Professional development workshops designed to increase your knowledge of the company and the retail industry, as well as develop their business acumen and office professionalism * Extensive exposure to our senior leadership through our exclusive intern only Executive Speaker Series which includes a private meet & greet with our CTO & CEO * Opportunities to â??live the brandâ?? and experience summer fun outside the office through various events * Fully furnished summer housing is provided for interns who reside outside of the Metro Pittsburgh area or stipend for local interns * Working a 40 hour work week, Monday â??
