    Job Description

    The Finance Controller is responsible for setting and executing strategies to maximize profit and supporting all function managers and function controllers in reaching their goals. Further, this role is responsible for correct procurement procedures and together with the accounting and payroll manager for financial compliance.

    This position is based in Secaucus, NJ within our Controlling Function and reports to our Region Controller, Americas. The Finance Controller will have the Accounting Manager, Payroll Manager, and Travel Team as direct reports.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Set and organize all planning related processes (budget, forecast, GPB etc.), and the structure for costs together with the Regional Controller Americas and Central Controller US in line with country goals
    • Communicates the strategy to reach the goals and keeps the organization informed on actual results
    • Continuously follows up on attainment of objectives
    • Analyze together with function managers and controller reasons for deviations to the budgets and take actions on them together  
    • Initiate and take part in frequent follow up and information meetings
    • Constantly develop working methods
    • Be ambassador for profitability mind set
    • Guarantee correctness of monthly and annual settlements for the country organisation together with the accounting manager and Regional Controller.
    • Ensure appropriate liquidity and cash management together with the accounting manager.
    • Oversee and initiate tendering of contracts with external vendors with appropriate frequency
    • Establish and ensure audit relevant routines
    • Helps to recruit and train accounting, payroll, and travel department staff
    • Supports direct reports in their leadership development
    • Creates and maintains strong succession planning in all areas to secure top teams
    • Creates a liaison between financial departments and sales departments and ensures clear communication between them
    • Develops, supports the development and the implementation of accounting, payroll, and travel policies and procedures.
    • Completes special projects as needed

    ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Develops and maintains budgets of $10,000,000
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Economics
    • MBA, CPA and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred
    • 5 years of related controlling or finance experience
    • At least 5 years of managerial background
    • Prior work experience in a Retail company preferred
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Able to work both well independently and within teams
