Our Finance Department within The TJX Companies, Inc. prepares and leads the reporting, trend, and ad hoc analysis to all areas of our business. While each group has their own area of expertise, they are all looked upon as thought leaders responsible for understanding and communicating the data that drives our organization and makes us a global leader.

The Opportunity:

Corporate Finance at TJX is offering entry level opportunities at our Framingham, MA office to students seeking to learn, grow and contribute in a fast-paced, dynamic corporate finance organization. If you are inquisitive about how the finance function turns data into useful information in order to support operations of a growing Fortune 100 Company, then this opportunity is the right one for you!

Finance is the functional area that performs analysis and reporting that drives critical business decisions, including planning and forecasting sales and gross profit, inventory flow, and other merchandise analyses. This business function offers the chance to bring your analytical side and impact the “heart” of the retail business. This role offers a great opportunity to build foundation in analytics as well as put your understanding of financial fundamentals to real-life application. You may be responsible for identifying and evaluating on-going profit-generating opportunities. You will work on a variety of projects that are sure to keep up your interests in finance, and have access to many levels of management.

Summer 2019 entry level opportunities are available as a Financial Analyst within a variety of areas within the TJX Corporate Finance organization such as:

• Business Planning & Analysis
• Financial Control

These roles will provide business and project analytical support for critical finance initiatives, enabling the TJX retail business operating model. You will be assigned projects that contribute to business strategy, as well as assist with daily activities within the Finance and Accounting functions. You will collaborate with experienced financial professionals, to ensure we are managing and executing assigned projects and deliverables in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.

Responsibilities and deliverables may include but are not limited to:

• Gain valuable experience through a variety of job responsibilities across the finance and accounting functions
• Perform your own analysis projects
• Contribute to ongoing projects to be used in developing TJX strategy
• Work cross functionally within other areas of TJX, such as Store Operations, Human Resources, Distribution, IT, Real Estate and Marketing
• Create presentations / reports / communications for use by senior management
• Interact with all levels of management

Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for current students who are highly motivated self-starters, with the ability to prioritize effectively, be proactive and flexible, and demonstrate a strong bias for action in a fast-paced professional environment. Additional skills include:

• Proficient in Excel (i.e. pivot tables, charts, v-look up, etc.)
• Students who are sincerely interested in a career in Corporate Finance
• Prior internship in a finance-related field a plus
• Students who have high level of curiosity
• Those with proven leadership abilities with strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Those who pay strong attention to details
• Excellent communicators, who are able to concisely and effectively deliver results
• Ability to work with numbers and create financial presentations
• Students who can build strong relationships with cross-functional departments
• Self-starters who can manage multiple projects simultaneously

Key Qualifications:

• A well-founded academic background – GPA of 3.0 or above
• Eligible to start in the Summer of 2019
• Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
• In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire
