    Job Description

    The Manager, Media Planning is responsible for the planning, execution, measurement and management of all paid media related to GNC brand, first party brands and promotional campaigns. The position will also act as the marketing liaison and media planner for special interest departments within GNC and manage all day to day agency relationship needs regarding media and advertising. 

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Define all media objectives, strategies, targets, buying rationale, budgets and metrics that deliver against business goals
    • Provide strategic direction, operational oversight and performance accountability for all digital and traditional media investments
    • Lead the creation of performance marketing strategies across Display, Video, Social, to drive customer acquisition and retention
    • Work with eComm manager to collaborate on SEM, affiliate and SEO
    • Work with the internal team and external media agency teams to build impactful and measurable media campaigns around business needs
    • Manage budgets across all agencies
    • Assist in the budget forecast, billing and reconciliation of agency and non-agency vendors
    • Manage campaign reporting, insights and optimizations
    • Prepare campaign recaps and post reporting analysis
    • Manage data collection of all media deliverables to marketing mix modeling company
    • Partner with Marketing Content and Planning teams to ensure proper alignment with targeting, consistency with messaging and awareness of urgent needs/changes
    • Partner with Marketing Operations team to ensure review, routing and approval process is maintained
    • Responsible for the release of in-house creative to vendors
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including CRM, Customer Marketing, GNC.com, Operations, Legal, etc. to ensure campaigns are implemented properly, on schedule and elevating issues
    • Collect and call out all relevant media inputs into campaign/project work order
    • Consults on advertising and media planning needs for partner businesses including GNC Canada, Military, Franchise, International and Co-Op Vendor campaigns
    • Manage and maintain all ad databases, documents and archives as it relates to final advertising creative and media placements
    • Maintain database of contacts and information sources for all vendor relationships as it relates to trafficking advertising
    • Attend scheduled production meetings and agency partner status calls
    • Additional duties as assigned

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for supervising a team of employees
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
    • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
    • 8+ years of marketing experience with emphasis on paid media planning and execution required; equivalent to AMD, Media Supervisor in agency
    • 5+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
    • Prior managerial/supervisory experience
    • Google Analytics and DoubleClick Certified preferred
    • Experience determining ROI and measuring the success of all projects
    • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
    • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
    • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
    • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
    • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
    • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
    • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

    Additional Information

    Base Salary: $75,00.00 to $95,000.00

    The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range. The actual base salary offered for this position depends on several factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Our base salary is one component of GNC’s competitive total rewards strategy.
