The Training Specialist will be expected to create and foster a positive learning environment and be able to inspire participants across diverse academic, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds. The Training Specialist will be required to interact and support individuals throughout all departments and levels of the organization and must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, be a team-player and have the ability to multi-task. This position reports to the Learning and Development Manager. We seek bright, resilient and caring strategic thinkers to join us as we greet a new century of innovation, achievement, and social and environmental responsibility RESONSIBILITIES * Facilitates employee workshops and trainings on a variety of topics that support the learning and development of Goodwill employees and Career Center participants, including, but not limited to: digital skills, and competencies. * Presents information to participants in a clear, effective fashion using a variety of teaching aids and address questions or concerns and utilize training and instructional methods that reinforce learning. * Provides instruction through varied modalities: in-person group and individual service delivery, blended learning, and virtual/online methodologies as appropriate. * Conducts community outreach to market the program and garner learners. * Provides verbal and written feedback on individual performance and monitors progress for both the participant and the referral source. * Conducts assessments using software and other testing methods needed to provide proper classroom placement. * Coordinates team members coverage/schedules for employees participating in training programs. * Maintains curricula and materials for Adult Education and Vocational Skills Training programs as assigned. * Responsible for filing and maintaining thorough, accurate participant records, including assessments, assignments, tests, reports, performing data entry and other program related information as required. * Maintains documentation and records to meet requirements for specific funding sources. * Market programs and maintains communication with referral sources concerning training needs. * Orders necessary classroom and resource supplies. * Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE * Minimum (2) years of training experience facilitating in-person, web-based, virtual learning or distance learning. * Bachelors Degree in education, communication, human resources or a related field is preferred * Experience working in a non-profit environment preferred. * Valid Driver's License and clean DMV record, or the ability to travel to various work locations throughout San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin Counties. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES * Demonstrated ability to lead and conduct training; ability to present in front of peers/associates. * Prior professional experience in a learning and development role or a proven track record of performance in a related field * Skilled in developing clear written communications, procedures, and work instructions. * Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups of individuals from a variety of educational, social and economic backgrounds. * Be able to adapt training materials and delivery to changes in customer service environments. * Proven leadership skills and ability to influence and partner/collaborate with others. Must be highly collaborative and open to multiple perspectives * Proficiency with, and ability to conduct, intermediate tasks within Microsoft Office Suite applications and various cloud based office applications * Ability to utilize self-learning systems. * Possess a professional demeanor, poise under pressure with strong attention to detail, and well-developed time management skills. * Respects and has knowledge of cultures, ethnicities, gender, sexual orientations and age groups other than ones own, able to work effectively with all.
