    Job Description

    This a salaried (exempt) position that will typically work during the day-shift within a 4-day work week. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience. Duties will include, but not be limited to:

    • Interacts with plant personnel in setting requirements of orientation curriculum based on corporate requirements.
    • Reviews and tests new employee’s skills sets, providing feedback and plans for improvement.
    • Accomplishes hands-on training in alignment with facility and company standards, utilizing the Training Lab.
    • Provides tours for new employees, identifying stations and job responsibilities.
    • Ensures new employees know and understand all safety procedures associated with the tools and job tasks they are asked to perform.
    • Participates in the evaluation of each new hire in terms of placement (cognitive, aptitude, physical and technical skills).
    • Provides classroom training on a variety of subjects using instructional material, and current technology for specific curricula.
    • Interacts with each new employee to gauge performance levels, skill retention and potential fit with Great Dane.
    • Holds final interview with each employee prior to completion of Orientation.
    • Interfaces with department head, hiring agency and/or HR about changing needs, trends or other issues associated with new employees.
    • Evaluates and confirms learning objectives through ongoing assessments and acts upon data accordingly, in alignment with company standards.
    • Helps develop supporting aides for print, classroom and on-the-job training materials.
    • Provides rapid solutions for immediate training/communication needs.
    • Ensure appropriate quality standards are applied throughout processes.
    • Provides assistance in obtaining plant objectives as appropriate.  (Retention activities, technical standards/training, employee training etc.)
    • Additional duties as assigned.

     REQUIREMENTS:

    -      College Degree

    -      Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

    -     Overall manufacturing knowledge

    -     Knowledge of Safety and Quality standards applicable to manufacturing

    -      Ability to deliver training in a classroom or one-on-one

    Additional Information

    Great Dane Jonesboro normally operates on a 4 day schedule, Monday through Thursday, with occasional Friday or Saturday work as production needs dictate. Our 1st shift typically begins at either 5:00am/6:00am, and ends at either 3:30pm/4:30pm, based on individual department schedules. Our 2nd shift typically begins at 5:00pm and ends at 3:30am. Some departments may work beyond these hours as needed. 

    A favorable background screen, drug screen, and proof of work authorization in the United States is required for employment.
