    Job Description

    GREAT DANE is now looking for a temporary INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST for a 6 month independent contract opportunity at our Savannah, Georgia office.   

    The INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST oversees all internal marketing content initiatives across multiple platforms and formats to produce, write, edit and promote content and stories targeted to all employees. This position needs to be a natural storyteller and experienced writer and copy editor who can produce compelling content that engages employees in Great Dane’s brand and business strategy. This individual is knowledgeable in all things related to content and channel optimization, brand consistency, segmentation and localization, analytics and meaningful measurement. 

    The position collaborates cross-functionally to help define the brand story. This position will be responsible for managing and creating executive communications and messaging across all internal platforms. The Internal Communications Specialist will also coordinate with key internal stakeholders and departments to produce content and messaging to drive employee engagement.  

    • THIS IS A TEMPORARY, INDEPENDENT CONTRACT POSITION; THE EXPECTED DURATION IS 6 MONTHS AND REQUIRES ONSITE ATTENDANCE IN OUR SAVANNAH OFFICE.

       

    RESPONSIBILITIES  Ultimately, the job of the Internal Communications Specialist is to think like a publisher/journalist, leading the development of content initiatives in all forms to drive employee engagement. This includes:

    •    Ensuring all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content.  •    Assist in establishing strategic marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives for products and services •    Develop marketing and communications programs that support marketing goals and initiatives •    Manage development, production, and distribution of promotional and collateral materials by working with internal creative teams and external production vendors •    Maintain monthly reports and dashboards and participate in monthly and quarterly business reviews as well as in the annual product planning process •    Establish and maintain consistent corporate image and marketing communications for brand •    Architect and deliver marketing projects, photography and graphics, dealer programs, public relations, media schedule and newsletters •    Analyze marketing programs and adjust strategy and tactics to increase effectiveness •    Participate in budget development and budget management •    Prepare written materials including marketing copy, business communications, reports and presentation scripts •    Support planning and execution of marketing plan activities including media, trade, promotions, and collateral material •    Work closely with Event Marketing team to ensure marketing campaigns and programs are clearly communicated, effectively implemented and measured •    Ability to travel up to 20 percent for company and industry events

    SUCCESS CRITERIA  The Internal Communications Specialist is measured on the continual improvement of employee nurturing and retention through storytelling, as well as the increase in new prospects into the company through the consistent development and deployment of content to each persona group. Success criteria include: 

    •    Positive brand recognition and consistency across chosen published channels •    An increase in defined employee engagement metrics (measured by users taking the desired action)  •    Conversion metrics definition and growth  •    Employee feedback and survey data

    REQUIREMENTS:

    •    Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations or related communications field. Graphic Design skills a plus  •    3-5 years of experience as a respected leader in multichannel content creation  •    Editorial mindset that seeks to understand what audiences consume and how to create it •    Ability to analyze and present content and social performance •    Project management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment and focus on the delivery of results in the form of engagement •    Experience with creating compelling messages for different target demographics. Crisis communications experience a plus
