    Job Description

    About the Role:

    As a Multi Area Security Manager in the Security function, you are responsible for supporting the Sales & Profit in your Areas by setting a security plan to deliver the Best Customer Experience in line with your Area’s goals and Country Security focuses.

    Acting as a leader with a strong knowledge-based approach, you support the stores and Area Teams to enable the Best Teams from a security perspective based on results, values, and leadership.

    You support the Areas by effectively and efficiently ensuring the delivery (with the lowest possible long-term cost) of Security Services and Green Standard achievements for the H&M Group. You work in accordance with legal requirements and H&M Global standards, policies, and procedures to meet the expectations of customers and colleagues for all brands. You analyze facts that lead to a risk-based approach to losses and cost.

    This hybrid/field role reports into the Security Manager for either Sales Market North USA & CA or Sales Market South USA & PR and is based out of one of the following cities:

    North USA & CA: NJSO or NYC, Chicago (IL), Maryland or Washington DC, Seattle (WA)

    South USA & PR: Houston (TX), Miami (FL), Los Angeles (CA), San Francisco (CA).

    A Day in the Life:

    People and Teams

    • Act as a leader with a strong knowledge-based approach, you empower the Store and Area Teams to raise risk awareness

    • You build a better performing customer centric organization that makes risk-based decisions

    • Communicate clearly and in an inspiring way about business performance and goals.

    • Partnership with Area Sales Managers & Area Teams to secure & promote a health and safety culture in stores.

    • Support Area Human Resources & Store Management Teams to monitor the completion of all Health, Safety and Security related trainings in H&M’s Learning Management Systems

    • Educate Area Teams on all security aspects and promote a positive feedback culture.

    • Educate leadership throughout our offices and stores on H&M Group Code of Ethics

    • Partnership with Area Human Resources and Area Sales Managers to identify, develop and manage future security talent through succession planning.

    • Supports with coordinating and managing local crisis situations when they arise.

    • Establish cross functional collaboration with the different functions at Area level and organize quarterly meetings with each.

    • Establish relationships with external stakeholders, including but not limited to law enforcement and mall security.

    Planning:

    • You have a clear and aligned definition of the Security Scope of work based on the Green Standards audit model

    • You have clear and aligned requirements and processes in the project management scope with all stake holders

    • You have budgets based on requirements, risks and long-term plans

    • Ensure Security operations according to the H&M Global Security Strategy and the agreed Service Scope for all brands.

    • Assists with planning, training & implementation of special projects (Security Training, Store openings, Inventory, IT, etc.)

    • Setting strategic plans to achieve H&M Security goals based on relevant KPI’s.

    • In partnership with the Security Project Manager ensure clear timelines and plans for executing projects (new store/rebuild/closures) with all stakeholders within the project management scope for all brands.

    • Responsible for handling all Guard and Detective invoices.

    Profit:

    • You work actively with cost follow up including forecast and investment costs

    • You minimize risk to the company by achieving and executing all Green Standards

    • You identify well performing stores, capture best practices and share experience from existing stores within the Security Team and with our Stakeholders

    • You work actively with the loss prevention strategy in every business unit to minimize shrink

    • Overview of cost performance for responsible areas, including actual, budget, forecast and last year.

    • Responsible for adjusting when needed, improvement plans to meet forecast and budget.

    • Responsible for providing feedback on our external service providers for quarterly vendor reviews.

    • Identify opportunities within Workers Comp and General Liability, taking cross functional collaboration with appropriate stakeholders to minimize accidents.

    • Identify opportunities within security reports and collaborate cross functionally to maximize profit and minimize loss.

    • Strategic Loss Prevention Strategy for all stores with quarterly follow up to minimize shrink and increase stock accuracy.

    • Responsible to identify and resolve dishonest activity via loss prevention H&M approved portals, conduct investigation in partnership with sales Market Employee Relations and Area Human Resources

    • Manages all risk related situations in assigned stores inclusive of store accidents, customer conflict, unproductive shoplifting incidents and disruptive customers.

    • By utilizing available resources and partnering with Investigators, identify and analyze external theft trends.

    Additional Accountabilities:

    • Responsible for having working knowledge of areas budget and partnering with Sales Market Security Manager and Security Function Controller. Overview of approximately 100 H&M Group properties (stores, offices, split points).

    Qualifications

    Who You Are:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a safety related field, or equivalent working experience

    • Minimum of 2 years as an H&M Store Manager or comparable external experience

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office

    • Strong professional maturity and the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information.

    • Experience leading and managing a team.

    • Knowledge of OSHA regulations

    • Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills

    • Ability to identify internal and external risk, implement mitigation routines and analyze accident data for potential safety concerns.

    • Strong cognitive skills including problem analysis, decision making and strong quantitative analysis.

    • Excellent communication skills, ability to articulate information in all formats.

    • Wicklander and Zulawski interview and interrogation techniques

    • On call for all store incidents, nights, weekends (Break-ins, weather, alarms, civil unrest activities, etc.)

    • Valid Driver’s license

    • Required domestic travel up to 65% of time.

    Compensation: salary range is $85,693-$103,290 annually**
