    Job Description

    About the Role

    As an Area Manager, your main focus involves executing store sales and operations strategy, achieving sales and profit goals, and fostering team growth through succession planning and performance management.

    This hybrid/field role reports into the Sales Manager for _**Sales Market South USA & PR **_and is based out of Denver, CO.

    A Day in the Life

    Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*

    • You directly manage, coach and develop the Area Controller, Area HR, Area Visual and the Store Managers within your Area

    • Ensure execution and drive commercial operations based on directions from the Sales market

    • You hold sales and profit responsibility for your Area including Profit & Loss responsibility for physical stores ​

    • You actively work with talent and leadership development within your Area to support the business needs​

    • Together with the Area team, prioritize actions that have a clear impact on selling

    • Ensure an allocation that secures a good garment level according to the selling together with the Area, Sales team and Support Office functions

    • Follow up the store execution meets H&M standards with the customer experience tool

    • Implement and follow up on the Store Operations Best Practices according to the Sales market plan together with the Area team

    • Ensure customer centricity is prioritized in all stores in your Area

    • Ensure stores are maintained in a cost-efficient way to meet H&M standards and initiate actions accordingly

    • Actively prevent loss together with Store management & Area team & ensure all stores follow appropriate guidelines

    • Maintain an overview of the competitor landscape, potential risks, threats and opportunities and together with the Sales Team take actions accordingly

    • You have an overview of the specific challenges in your Area, including political, environmental, and competitor-related complexities and you develop strategies to navigate these challenges while maintaining a competitive edge together with your Sales market team

    • You play a key role in change initiatives, supporting colleagues to adapt to changes through effective communication and support

    • Ensure health & safety, legal and security issues are always being handled to H&M standards and local laws securing the employee and customer safety

    • Required domestic and international travel up to 60% of the time

    Qualifications

    Who You Are:

    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Area manager or 5-7 years as a Store manager for a large volume store or in a comparable role

    • You demonstrate flexibility in adapting to evolving market conditions, embracing new technologies and sales methods, and the capability to adjust strategies based on dynamic business needs

    • You articulate a clear vision and tailor messages for a diverse audience

    • You are brave in your approach and foster a culture of openness, enabling continual improvement and efficient results

    • Strong commitment and experience with providing a high level of customer service

    • Ability to coach and counsel staff and performance management and progressive discipline techniques

    • You genuinely care and show passion for your team and customers

    Additional Information

    _ Compensation: salary range is $116,000 - $130,500 annually**_
