Join our team as a Packaging Engineer at our facility in York, PA. Our Vehicle Operations plant provides metal fabrication, paint and final assembly of Motorcycles, Trikes and builds limited edition custom models. The Packaging Engineer responsibilities at our plant fall into two categories: packaging of in-bound parts for delivery to the point of use and packaging design for fully assembled vehicle delivery to customers. Heres what youll do: Provide Packaging subject matter expertise to manufacturing plant stakeholders and part suppliers to improve warehouse planning, material handling, industrial flow, ergonomics, and packaging design. Provide input to Packaging Engineers responsible for new Product Development to ensure plant requirements are met. Lead and participate in problem solving and continuous improvement projects regarding packaging design, material flow or related logistics improvements. Collaborate with and provide direction to packaging material suppliers in the design and delivery of inbound part packaging, part sequencing and vehicle delivery processes. Collaborate with other Packaging Engineers across the Company to identify, validate and incorporate new materials, processes and work standards for the team. Education Required Bachelors degree in packaging engineering is preferred. Experience Required The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience managing materials/packaging/warehousing projects in a product development, distribution, or manufacturing environment. Requires the ability to lead and work within groups, reaching consensus on realistic, specific goals and objectives. Must be able to effectively present information to a broad range of organizational levels. Skills in work group facilitation, negotiating, data analysis, and project management. Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision.
