JOB SUMMARY

Assigned to the Healthcare Segment Development Group, which is responsible for formulating the strategy for Walgreens payor segments (Commercial / Medicare / Medicaid / Consumer-Paid) and partnering cross-functionally to execute planned initiatives.

Interacts and participates with various divisions within Walgreens to assist in influencing key business decisions and supporting our Access, Retention, and Growth goals. Helps to deliver projects that contribute to strategic initiatives for Walgreens, our payor customers, and our patients.

The focus of the internship is geared towards candidates who are interested in learning about managed care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs various activities that contribute to the strategy development process for the assigned business unit.

• Utilizes various tools and resources to analyze information and make recommendations to support the business.

• Provides general day to day support across the various divisions within Walgreens.

• Suggests recommendations to leadership for improving and updating policies and processes.

• May deliver a project aligning to strategic priorities and present to manager/leadership upon completion.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with 2 semesters remaining upon start date

• Experience communicating with key stakeholders via writing reports and presenting the information.

• Experience collaborating with teams

• Basic level skill in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong interest in the managed care ecosystem as it relates to health plans, pharmacy benefit managers, providers, and pharmacies

• Eagerness to work in a dynamic, cross-functional organization and partner with other teams to deliver projects

• Work or classroom experience related to basic business strategy, financial forecasting, and presenting recommendations

• Interest in tackling complex business problems through the lens of a business unit owner
