    Engineering Development Program - Quality Engineer - June 2018( Job Number: HAM0002AO) Honda of America Mfg., Inc. Description Participate in the Engineering Development Program - a two-year program for entry-level engineers to rotate through several departments focusing on projects related to manufacturing. Upon completion of the program, responsibilities and tasks include the following: Position Core Role: 1. Minimizing quality issues from the production line to achieve optimal quality. 2. Identify quality related concerns from Market Quality (MQ) data and parts review. MQ Engineers are expected to perform root cause problem analysis, and perform countermeasure development to prevent unnecessary cost and lack of product quality which can lead to declining market share. Essential Function and Responsibilities: Root cause analysis: -Resolve complex issues impacting both the product and customer -Complete complex investigations to determine the source of product issues as well as defective contributors. -Perform complex tasks, plans and negotiates future direction. -Recreate problem failures (on vehicle or bench testing). -Analyze warranty parts to determine failure mode. Implement permanent countermeasures: -Write and present technical reports. -Work with American Honda to develop field repair techniques. -Perform joint analysis of problems with suppliers and other departments -Prevent outflow of defected products to customers -Meet prescribed deadlines & targets to support business team -Recommend a permanent countermeasure which could include (but not limited to) a design change request, a modification of the supplier part or an in-house adjustment. -Perform audits as needed. Daily Tasks -Warranty data review and warranty part analysis. -Market problem analysis and re-creation testing. -Plan upcoming testing and perform prep work. -Support other Team members as needed. -Review/implement changes for group efficiency. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): -Communication and reporting - clearly and concisely shares technical information (written & oral). -Analytical skill - applies sound engineering logic to analyze and resolve complex technical problems. -Ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks effectively. -Basic mechanical skills to remove/install general automotive components. -Excellent computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word,etc.) and ability quickly learn new software. Required Experience: Prefers at least 3 months or greater of relevant Co-op experience Education Requirements: BS Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering Position Factors: -Self motivated, flexible and good attitude -Negotiation skills. -Manages a high workload with minimum direction. -Initiates and leads action.
