Description This job description reflects potential openings at the Anna Engine Plant for Manufacturing Engineers. Positions may be available in Aluminum Casting, Aluminum Machining, Ferrous Manufacturing, Drivetrain Manufacturing, or Engine Assembly. This is a general job description and represents multiple openings in various departments. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Manufacturing: · Ability to work in a team environment, analyze daily gaps and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. · Work in conjunction with multiple team members to develop and lead implementation plans to improve overall line Safety, Quality and Efficiency. · Investigate, propose and implement approved activities, which reflect the company business plan direction in the areas of Safety, Environment, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Morale (SEQCDM). · Report on daily production activities and work with Maintenance and Production associates to troubleshoot and countermeasure daily manufacturing issues. · Analyze and improve production processes to improve overall line characteristics. · Support and/or lead New Model and Business Plan improvement projects. · Explore new and innovative technology that would enhance line characteristics. · Conduct Business Plan Situation Appraisals, Capacity Studies and Cycle Time Analysis as required. Equipment: · Analyze equipment data to identify areas for improvement in equipment use trend data to proactively address issues before they are major problems. · Research and recommend new equipment purchases; oversee the installation and implementation. · Performs equipment capability studies. · Tests new equipment after installation to ensure quality and efficiency; makes adjustments as necessary. · Troubleshoot equipment issues to resolve them timely, efficiently and with the purpose of preventing their reoccurrence; minimize machine downtime. · Create timely/accurate records of actions taken in response to equipment issues. · Solve root cause issues and prevent recurring problems. Daily Tasks: · Follow up on daily line performance & countermeasure any areas of concern. · Work with line production coordinator and equipment service to develop daily / weekly strategy based on priorities. · Develop and implement ideas for continuous improvement (SEQDCM). · Provide Leadership in technical support, line management and associate training/development. Required Experience: Minimum of 3 months of related co-op/internship experience. Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Materials, or related). Location: Anna, OH (45 minutes north of Dayton, OH) Types of Positions Available: · Direct Hire Associates will be hired into a specific role in the department. New hires will go through training with their department and will be responsible for performing the roles & responsibilities of their position. · Engineering Development Program The Engineering Development Program (EDP) is a two year rotational program for entry-level engineers. Associates in the Engineering Development Program will be hired to fill a specific role. EDP associates have an individualized development plan created and complete a series of rotations outside their home department related to their end role. Target Start Dates: September 2018 - January 2019
