ICS /SCADA Engineer( Job Number: HAM0002XV) Honda of America Mfg., Inc. Description Industrial Control System (ICS) technologies have advanced to enable improved data collection, diagnostics, and cognitive analytics. These modern ICS devices communicate over standard Ethernet and enable improvements in reliability, quality, and efficiency. This has converged machine control, or Operations Technologies (OT) and Information Technologies (IT) to a point that traditional IT networking and security skills are now required in the engineering domain. To address this need, an Operations Technology organization is being created to develop and implement best practices for design and management of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) networks, device configuration, and machine design specifications to ensure reliability and cybersecurity. Position Core Role: Lead plant floor manufacturing machine control / industrial control systems (ICS) networks at the East Liberty Plant. The scope of this function requires development of expertise in machine network and device configuration best practices to achieve high machine reliability, with an emphasis on cybersecurity. This will be accomplished by identification of all networked ICS devices, assess their proper configuration for reliable operation and cybersecurity, manage and monitor dedicated ICS networks, collaborate with Mfg. IT to isolate ICS devices from business networks, risk assessment, patch management, and security incident investigation. Specifications and FMEA must be developed to ensure that new machines are designed and installed according to OT reliability and cybersecurity best practices. Essential Function and Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive understanding of the ELP plant ICS networks and networked devices. Develop expertise in IEC 62443 and/or NIST SP 800-82 standards for ICS cybersecurity best practices. Perform FMEA and Security Risk Assessments that enable development of risk mitigation and recovery plans for new and existing systems. Develop expertise in the operation, configuration, and capabilities of Ethernet based ICS protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, profinet, BACnet, DNP3, and CC-Link IE, etc. Collaborate with EGA and OT leaders at other Honda Plants to develop specifications for machine design for network reliability, data collection, monitoring, and cybersecurity best practices. Collaborate with OT leaders, EGA, and HNA Procurement to establish standards for Honda approved machine integrators that define qualification requirements of engineering teams, ensuring reliability and security best practices in new machine designs. Support projects to ensure design and installation adhere to specifications and are included in monitoring and management systems. Collaborate with Honda IT / OT members and research emerging security alerts to determine risk potential to Honda machine devices and networks. Ability to provide technical direction and act as a subject matter expert as it relates to reliability and security of industrial control systems. Ability to write clear system requirements and test plans for machine device configurations for reliability and cybersecurity. Define and deploy systems for: inventory, monitoring, logging, alerting, investigation, patching, backup and restoration capabilities for ICS devices. Work to earn ICS Cybersecurity certification, such as Global Industrial Cybersecurity Professional (GICSP) or Certified SCADA Security Architect (CSSA). Daily Tasks: Ensure accurate documentation of inventory and configuration of ICS networks and networked ICS devices. Plan, coordinate, communicate & confirm work plans.
