    Bill of Material Specialist( Job Number: HMI0000NB) Honda Mfg of Indiana, LLC Description TS Bill of Material Specialist Position Core Role: Manage a manufacturing Bill of Material Database: update, control and distribute to downstream users. Communicate and control product design change implementation. Manage specification and regulatory information control. Control change points related to part management, including change notices and drawings. Manage irregular situations, including application corrections and date changes due to supplier impact. Maintain color data daily and weekly checks. Interface with other associate and departments in order to maintain best overall product design results for specification control group. Essential Function and Responsibilities: Group understanding of the construction, purpose and usage of a manufacturing Bill of Material. Basic understanding of a manufacturing part numbering system. Knowledge of mainframe databases systems experience. General understanding of manufacturing part numbers and design change processing. Previous bill of material related knowledge and processing experience. Experience/Exposure to design change implementation. Good communication skills: Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate (written and verbally) with peers. Willingness to do research and conduct investigations. Daily Tasks: Formally receive, log and track implementation of product design changes. Overall responsibility by category for Bill of Material maintenance and accuracy activity. Engineering drawing receipt, handling, storage, distribution and overall file management. Identify root cause of gaps found in the Bull of Material, implement and counter measure. Interface with customer departments. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: General understanding of manufacturing part numbers and design change processing. Previous Bill of Material related knowledge and processing experience. Experience/Exposure to design change implementation. Good communication skills: Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate (written and verbally) with peers. Willingness to do research and conduct investigations. Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relative experience in the automotive manufacturing industry. Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Honda Factors: Multiple plant assignments. Supplier interactions.
