Carrier Services Representative * * Job Tracking ID: 512981-642815 * Job Location: Blue Ash, OH * Job Level: Entry Level (less than 2 years) * Level of Education: High School/GED * * Job Type: Full-Time/Regular * Date Updated: August 02, 2018 * Years of Experience: Up to 2 Years * Starting Date: August 2, 2018 Job Description Position Summary: As a Carrier Services Representative, your primary function will be to process broker requests to enter new, and verify existing IEL carriers. You will act as the liaison between the sales team and the carriers we partner with to transport goods for the customer. Carrier setup and verification is a critical and time sensitive element to IELs business and is counted on to provide excellent service to both internal and external partners. This position is a member of the Carrier Services department and reports to the Carrier Services Supervisor. Position Description (Essential Duties & Responsibilities): * Process Broker requests to unlock and verify existing IEL carriers in a timely manner * Display working knowledge of IEL carrier setup and verification procedures * Review TMS and identity information that needs to be updated or verified * Work with Carriers insurance provider to verify IEL coverage requirements are met * Review proper external carrier verification websites for any information relevant to IEL processes, Safer Watch, Carrier 411 and Internet Truckstop among them. * Identify and communicate with management and broker when criteria are not met such as such as active DOT authority, IEL minimum insurance requirements, and ability to verify carrier identity * Provide feedback to management regarding ways to improve process * Assist managing a database of over 45,000 carriers * Handle additional duties as needed * Answer phone calls from carriers and customers on payment status * Keep detailed notes of all phone calls regarding payment status in Accounting System * Provide IEL carriers a single point of contact for any inbound issue or dispute Experience and Skills Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Basic (Required) * High school degree or GED * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office * Data entry and customer service experience * Work well in fast paced team settings * Ability to work on multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment * Comply with company procedures and escalate issues as needed * Interdepartmental communication and service skills Preferred * Transportation or logistics related work experience * Knowledge of commercial insurance * Familiarity with a transportation management software * Basic understanding for FMSCA and Department of Transportation * Account System or Accounts Payable experience Benefits Benefits: * Competitive compensation * Paid training * Comprehensive benefits including paid time off, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages, and company matched 401K * Innovative technology platforms complete with user-friendly programs and helpful onsite specialists * Exciting and fun company culture (plus the best co-workers you could ever ask for!) in a supportive, team-centered environment * Employee discounts to the Blue Ash Recreation Center as well as additional discounts to various other retailers and local events * Laid-back dress code and an enjoyable atmosphere voted #1 Best Places to Work in both Cincinnati and Tampa!
