Perform entry-level purchasing functions and assist other purchasing personnel in the efficient procurement of goods and services. Act as a vendor and supplier liaison for the Buyer on a daily basis. Maintain accurate purchase orders, sales confirmations as well as other various clerical tasks, understanding all deadlines and reporting discrepancies to the Buyer. Scope -Maintain an organized system for all article samples in the sample room. Maintain a current record of all samples, while organizing them for easy access. -Create, update and maintain all vendor files. Work with vendor to maintain positive relationship while serving Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores best interest. Work with vendors when purchase orders and sales confirmations do not match. -Support Buyers and Associate/Assistant Buyers by attending Category Management Team (CMT) or Marketing turn-in or proof meetings as needed. Work on special projects with the Buyer and Associate/Assistant Buyer. -Responsible for the timely research and resolution of any issues from Stores, Marketing, Advertising, Accounts payable, DC issues, Logistics and Product Development. -Work with other Buyer Coordinators to maintain continuity and organization across the Category Management Team. -Maintain an organized system for all purchase orders and sales confirmations, which can be easily managed as well as understood by the team.Education Requirements -Minimum: Bachelors Degree. Consideration will be given to candidates actively pursuing a Bachelors Degree and consideration will be given to equivalent retail work experience in lieu of degree. -Preferred: Bachelors Degree preferably in Merchandising, Fashion Merchandising, Business or related field.Experience -Minimum: 0-3 years retail working experience. General office experience with email, fax, phone and filing. -Preferred: Merchandising internship, Jo-Ann Store experience or other retail experiences that transition to an operating unit.Other Skills -Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to meet multiple deadlines in a timely matter, strong organizational and customer service skills.
