The notable responsibilities of the Assistant Merchant are: * Contribute to some aspects of Product Development activities * Create and maintain line plans/matrix and communicate plan to stakeholders * Assist with targeted consumer research via market shopping and trade/fashion publications to contribute to line development and pricing strategy * Create and maintain internal seasonal sample lines * Act as a conduit of information, materials and samples * Maintain seasonal product integrity in our system * Present product lines at internal meetings What the Assistant Merchant already has: * Bachelors degree, however a combination of college education and related work experience may be used as a substitute * Minimum 2 years of experience working in a merchandising function for an apparel manufacturer, retailer and/or marketer * Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities * Expert knowledge and proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook * Extremely strong customer service orientation and the ability to multi-task; with the desire to work in a very fast paced environment and an ability to not become frustrated with last minute changes * Effective interpersonal and organizational skills; especially when it comes to working directly with senior level directors * Impeccable communication skills across all channels * Demonstrated ability to learn new computer programs quickly * Must demonstrate an energetic, positive, helpful demeanor and a passion and interest in LS & Co. * Strong interest in Women Fashion and high Product sensitivity.
