    Job Description

    GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

    Supervise the planning and scheduling requirements of the shoe and leather manufacturing facilities to insure the Red Wing Shoe business and customer requirements are met. Supervise the purchasing of raw materials and manufacturing supplies while maintaining appropriate inventory levels to meet business demand and Company objectives.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILIES

    • Work closely with Brand leadership, Demand Planning, Strategic Sourcing partners and other business partners as needed to analyze past and future business demands, assess capabilities, develop strategies and implement actions to achieve business imperatives.
    • Develop best practices on daily scheduling, leveraging capacity capabilities to the fullest, make to order opportunities, lead times, etc. that can be utilized by domestic manufacturing locations.
    • Work with Demand Planning team to analyze and update forecast information leveraging all available systems and resources.
    • Maximize utilization of manufacturing capacity planning tools including M3 and Logility for all domestic manufacturing facilities.
    • Work closely with the Plant leadership to ensure optimization of all domestic manufacturing capabilities to meet business demand and strategic operations objectives.
    • Track and analyze physical inventory data (safety stock) and variances, develop/recommend action plans and engage appropriate stakeholders to prevent and/or remediate issues.
    • Provide leadership for inventory management activities including but not limited to cycle counts and physical inventory counts.
    • Implement Lean Material Flow

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and seven to ten years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALICATIONS

    • Experience with PFEP- Plan For Every Part and Tugger Systems.
    • Manufacturing leadership experience, footwear industry experience strongly preferred
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong influence and negotiation skills
    • Excellent collaboration and team building skills
    • Strong drive for results and superior execution
    • Working knowledge of LEAN including material flow experience
    • Systems savvy including Microsoft Office and ERP
    • Strong analytical skills

    REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR KNOWLEDGE:

    • APICS certification a plus
