    Job Description

    Rising college Juniors and Seniors are invited to apply to this real-world, hands-on internship where you will work alongside Analytics experts on brand-name client accounts. This is a paid, full-time internship starting June 7 and ending August 6. Employees from diverse or underrepresented backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

     

    The Merkle Analytics team is a multifaceted on- and offline team that works closely with other analysts and client relationship managers to devise analytics strategy for our clients, integrate and augment the data, perform advanced analysis, activate campaigns, and measure results. As an intern, you will be integrated onto an Analytics team in one of the following disciplines:

    CUSTOMER ANALYTICS: You will learn and apply techniques in quantitative database marketing, predictive analytics and segmentation. As an intern, you may assist with providing customer profiling, segmentation analysis, survey design and analysis. You will apply your working knowledge of R or SAS and data querying languages like SQL or Hive.

     

    DIGITAL MEDIA ANALYTICS: With team member oversight, you will help to provide campaign analytics related to our clients’ digital media strategies. As an intern, you may will learn budgeting, bidding, pattern/trend exploration and explanation, ad copy/creative testing and analysis, landing page analysis, and forecasting. You may apply your working knowledge of analytical modeling in R or Python and data visualization in Tableau, PowerBI, or DataStudio.

    As an intern on the Customer or Digital Media Analytics team, you will play a proactive role to continually seek new knowledge, develop and practice your skills, and contribute your ideas and expertise to the team in meaningful ways.

     

    • Rising college Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or related field OR relevant experience
    • Have a grasp of numbers and be comfortable with quantitative analysis and simple statistics
    • Some experience with SQL, data visualization (Tableau, PowerBI, DataStudio) and Python, R or high-level scripting language is ideal 
    • Familiarity with digital or web analytics is preferred
    • Well-versed in the core MS Office suite programs and an intermediate to advanced user of Excel including the ability to use formulas, functions, and pivot tables 
    • Ability to explain and present complicated/advanced analytical methodology and results to non-technical audiences
    • Potential to quickly develop into a contributing junior team member and make a positive impact
