SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:
The Warehouse Specialist works with the Warehouse Manager or Assistant Warehouse Manager to maintain general aspects of the NAPA Auto Parts central warehouse and its inventory. General responsibilities include stocking and restocking parts and products as they are used or shipped to other locations, placing incoming inventory according to specific shelf layout, receiving shipments, checking in freight, ensuring bills of lading accuracy, and assisting with regular inventory audits; helps load/unload trucks, fills store orders, and locates correct parts, properly placing on the appropriate shuttle; understands our point of sale system (TAMS), invoicing and ordering processes as well as the NAPA delivery system; follows prescribed invoicing/transaction recording procedures; processes paperwork and forms generated by stores and customers; follows security policies and safety rules including handling hazardous materials; ensures the shelving and floor area is clean, uncluttered, and properly maintained; and performs all other associated duties assigned by management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Position may include additional functions not listed.)
Helps receive, unload and load freight while maintaining accurate shipping and receiving records.
Keeps received or freight to be shipped in designated locations and highly organized.
Helps pull stock orders as required and stocks received freight on a daily basis.
Helps maintain the Battery Express recharging center; receive, record, organize, recharge batteries and place new date stickers prior to sending back into store rotation or sending to customers that have batteries consigned.
Maintains highly accurate orders in designated locations for outbound shipments to NAPA stores; ensures shipments are accurate before releasing.
Complies with federal, state, and Dyna Parts / NAPA warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by understanding regulations and adhering to requirements.
Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by maintaining security procedures and protocols.
Assists with physical counts and inventory audits.
Maintains physical condition of the warehouse by helping with cleaning, inspecting equipment, and suggesting replacement when indicated.
Helps maintain accurate, orderly stock in the warehouse.
Perform other assignments and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: (Required knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, etc.)
Valid Driver’s License preferred.
High school diploma, or equivalent, preferred.
Capable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers (both visually and aurally) and remembering their sequence.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy as well as ability to multi-task and is self-motivated.
PHYSICAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Capable of loading and unloading a freight delivery vehicle used to transport parts and accessories to store premises.
Capable of lifting and moving merchandise of up to 80 pounds.
Ability to move engine blocks, core barrels, and other heavy equipment using moving aids designed to move such items, including hand trucks, barrel dollies, hydraulic lifts, etc.
Ability to bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and be able to reach upper shelves (eight feet) with use of stool or ladder when necessary.
Must be able to stand or walk for entire work shift.
Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively.
