    SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:

    This position oversees the moving of ordered parts and products from the NAPA store to various customer premises throughout the work day. This position is a key contact accountable for punctual, accurate deliveries, ensuring invoice accuracy, keeping an accurate delivery log, and providing excellent, courteous service to the store’s wholesale customers. Dispatchers coordinate store’s shipping activities from the store to customers and also work with drivers to bring cores, orders, or other merchandise back to the store. The dispatcher keeps records of delivery vehicles, routes, and parts/materials delivered each day.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Position may include additional functions not listed.)*

    Coordinates and schedules daily deliveries per the best, safest and most efficient routes; adapting deliveries as required.

    Oversees delivery staff; scheduling, advising, and coaching delivery employees as needed

    Communicates with delivery drivers; relays additional information as required.

    Ensures that Optimized Delivery Management (ODM)/Delivery Tracker is maintained providing accurate, up to date delivery information.

    Helps to ensure that key processes and all standard operating procedures established by the company regarding wholesale/delivery are in place.

    Establish and maintain good relations with NAPA customers, drivers, and counter sales associates.

    Ensures and maintains professional attitude, conduct, and appearance among our wholesale department.

    Check invoices to ensure that parts ordered were correctly pulled for delivery; keeping an accurate and detailed delivery log.

    Direct delivery drivers to assist with warehouse upkeep, stocking, pulling, cleaning, etc.

    Assist with checking in stock orders and stocking products on the shelves.

    Oversees all incoming special orders for both retail and wholesale customers.

    Follows all safety rules, especially handling hazardous materials.

    Oversees the training of new delivery drivers.

    Perform other assignments and duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS: (Required knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, etc.)

    Valid Driver’s License required. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet driving requirements set by Dyna Parts .

    Previous retail experience preferred.

    High school diploma, or equivalent, required.

    Capable of operating TAMS point-of-sale system and cataloging.

    Ability to process cash, check, and credit card transactions.

    Capable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers (both visually and aurally) and remembering their sequence.

    Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, as well as ability to multi-task and is self-motivated.

    Proficient understanding/adherence to Dyna Parts’ standard operating procedures.

    PHYSICAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    Capable of lifting and moving merchandise of up to 60 pounds.

    Ability to move engine blocks, core barrels, and other heavy equipment using moving aids designed to move such items, including hand trucks, barrel dollies, hydraulic lifts, etc.

    Ability to bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and be able to reach upper shelves (eight feet) with use of stool or ladder when necessary.

    Ability to stand and walk for entire work shift.

    Ability to speak clearly, listen attentively, and understand others as well as ability to give and receive instructions via telephone, computer messages, face-to-face, and in writing.
