    SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:

    Manages daily activities in the organization's office and accounting functions, which will include accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. This person will lead the accounting team and will often interact with customers and vendors.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Position may include additional functions not listed.)*

    Maintains the organization's general ledger, tracking assets, liabilities, expenses, and revenues.

    Oversees the day-to-day activities of accounting operations for areas of responsibility.

    Oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and financial reporting.

    Performs complex tasks typically following established processes.

    Assists internal and/or external auditors with periodic auditing or the organization's financial records and statements.

    Reconciles and adjusts bank accounts to manage cash flow.

    Pays state and local sales tax and other taxes.

    Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures but may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change.

    Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.

    Manages the accounts receivable and accounts payable departments.

    Perform other assignments and duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS: (Required knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, etc.)

    Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles.

    Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience preferred.

    Excellent management skills and ability to foster teamwork.

    Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills as well as analytical thinking skills.

    Very detail oriented and ability to meet deadlines.

    Written communication skills, mathematical skills, and accounting skills.

    Excellent with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to learn new software applications.

    PHYSICAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    Interacts with others within an administrative internal environment located at a desk/work station and works in both manual and electronic/computer activities during the workday.

    Must be able to lift 10 lbs.

    Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for entire work shift.

    Ability to speak clearly, listen attentively, and understand others as well as ability to give and receive instructions via telephone, computer messages, face-to-face, and in writing.
