Duties for this position would include: SUMMARY: Monitor closed circuit TV security system for signs of illegal activities in order to protect company assets and identify customers and/or staff who need assistance. Apprehend and detain individuals involved in illegal activities Apprehend and detain any individuals involved in illegal activities against NFM: Stop, apprehend and detain shoplifters or assist security officers in doing the same. Assist Security Investigators in making stops, detentions and apprehension. Call 911 (police assistance) when needed. Recover and record in a journal any evidence seized during an apprehension. Write incident reports for criminal activity Monitor Retail, Warehouse and Parking Areas via closed Circuit TV System and report information to appropriate staff: Observe multiple CCTV security system monitors simultaneously. Alert security officers and command officers of any theft. Surveil staff for internal theft and policy violations, which are to be reported to Human Resources. Alert sales management and/or staff of customers who have not been approached or assisted by sales staff and or cashiers. Alert security patrol of customers and/or staff who need assistance in the parking lots. Keep a computerized journal of daily activities. Change tapes on system. Review pre-recorded videotapes upon request from managers for alleged illegal activities and process problems. Assist Security Investigators at direction of Command Officers in furtherance of their investigative efforts. Conduct warehouse safety checks to audit compliance with security policies. Act as dispatcher for company services while operating the Security Control Center: Field telephone requests for service or response. Take messages and transfer telephone calls to appropriate department or entity for proper handling. Telephone other company services (property management/housekeeping/etc.) upon a radio request from loss prevention staff. Operate the company radio system to radio dispatch security officers, investigators, command officers, and property management. Summon fire, medical, or law enforcement assistance as necessary. Monitor television and broadcast radio for severe weather broadcasts and relay to command officers and management team. Conduct theft prevention activities to ensure compliance with display security procedures and target-harden merchandise from theft: Conduct floor security audits to determine non-conformances with display policy. Arrange with display staff to secure merchandise left vulnerable or personally secure merchandise. Conduct overt surveillance in the Warehouse and conduct covert surveillance on the retail sales floor: Work undercover as a customer on the sales floor to blend in with customers and detect criminal activity. Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record. 6 months of Security experience to include work with closed circuit televisions, motion sensors, and or alarm and/or college coursework in criminal justice or related area Ability to operate camera control systems (keyboard, joy stick, thumbwheel, etc.) Ability to pay close attention to detail Retail experience including theft prevention, security procedures, alarms, security service, lock/key/access systems strongly preferred Keyboarding experience preferred Satisfactorily complete NFM Response to Resistance training course within ninety (90) days of employment or obtain certification in PPCT Defensive Tactics training within one (1) year of employment Certification in OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) foam deployment within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification standards Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs.
