It creates and drives communications for the North America Nike Direct retail business that includes Nike Stores, Nike Factory Stores, Nike.com, Nike apps and NikePlus membership. The North America Nike Direct Communications Specialist will play a key role in executing a strategy to drive the internal and external narrative around Nike Direct. The successful candidate for this role is digitally and social media savvy, a voracious reader of news and media, loves to write, and has a desire to contribute to and build experience in a wide variety of communications work, such as supporting media relations strategy, helping with executive communications plans, drafting messages to field employees, and obsessing the details of large-scale employee events. Responsibilities include: -Own, drive and create content and editorial calendar for the Nike Direct intranet site, including writing and producing stories -Own executive communications channels, including deploying messages, monitoring activity and suggesting innovative new channels or solutions -Manage calendar and logistics for all-employee meetings, and support on strategy and content -Support with media activities, including attending media events, arranging media opportunities and support with issues management -Own and manage our content library, including overseeing photo shoots or creating other visual assets as needed -Be a subject matter expert in the media landscape as it relates to retail -Support internal and external communication strategy for NikePlus membership and Nike.com -Serve as liaison with other communications teams at Nike, including proactively representing the geography or business point-of-view when appropriate -Know and understand our audiences, including regularly connecting across the organization to identify communications needs and visiting stores as needed -Support annual internal leadership event and other large cross-audience projects as needed Qualifications Required: -Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related discipline -1-3+ years of experience in Corporate Communications or Communications role supporting globally branded organizations, either in agency or in-house or working in a news organization -Experience and interest in new media and digital platforms -Experience developing communications that engage across multiple platforms, including print, digital, audio, video, mobile and/or social media -Strong writing skills and editorial planning combined with speed, flexibility and attention to detail -Ability to build and cultivate key relationships internally with multiple business partners, and work well in a cross-functional, cross-geographical and cross-category matrix organizational structure -Ability to understand challenges or underlying concerns, share ideas, and develop effective responses, or elevate to higher management Preferred: -Experience in digital or physical retail -Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud -Self-starter, able to take initiative and find new solutions -Positive attitude and solutions-oriented approach NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
