A day in the life ** ** The ideal** **E-commerce Merchandiser is customer obsessed, curious, highly motivated, results oriented and committed to providing outstanding customer service every day by leading a customer-first product strategy to optimize the digital experience. The E-commerce Merchandiser is accountable for driving online business and improving conversion for the identified categories or departments. They are responsible for driving product selection and quantification strategies in partnership with their product site merchandisers and the Nordstrom Merchandising Group. As a member of the online merchandising team share accountability to meet and exceed company goals and initiatives. Develop a deep knowledge of the customer, product categories and the competitive marketplace Develop a thorough understanding of the ecommerce pillars of convenience, experience, selection and price through partnership with Site Merchandising Develop online seasonal merchandise strategies and partner with buyers and buy planners on implementation Drive conversion by developing selection plans that are in alignment with merchandise strategy and competitive positioning. Identify, quantify and drive category, class and/or supplier online opportunities and determine customer choice recommendations Partner with buy planners to determine quantification for featured and top items Determine drop ship plans and projections. Identify drop ship items for newness, carry forward or convert to owned Plan and measure selection growth and price to competitors across area of responsibility and ensure action is taken Provide in season analysis and insights ensuring the highest priorities are executed against to drive the online business Coach and educate merchants and business partners on the fundamentals of eCommerce Leadership Set Clear Direction Translate Ideas into Action Inspire and Develop People Demonstrate One Company Mindset You own this if you have Bachelors degree in merchandising or related field preferred Minimum 2 years experience in eCommerce or multichannel retail merchandise planner or equivalent role Nordstrom experience preferred Experience in a relevant merchandise category preferred Demonstrated understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom required Proficiency in MS Office suite required Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills required Weve got you covered We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, vision and dental coverage, a fabulous merchandise discount, an employer-matched 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase plan and much more depending on your role.
