    Job Description

     

    TITLE:                           FINANCIAL ANALYST

     

    JOB SUMMARY:           Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial status of Omni Family Health by collecting, monitoring, and studying data and recommending actions. Provide information to internal and external sources regarding clinical operations, productivity, and other services.

     

    JOB DUTIES:    

     

    1.      Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual management and financial, cash flow and statistical reports, including funding reports, and other required financial/progress reports with the funding agencies’ requirements.

    2.      Determines cost of operations by establishing cost studies and collecting operational data.

    3.      Develop and maintain financial and operation statistics record keeping and reporting systems.

    4.      Determines cost of operations by establishing cost students, and collecting operational data.

    5.      Prepare and review profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.

    6.      Coordinate the development of budgets for internal control, provides information and assists staff and program directors in budget preparation, implementation, and control; prepares, balances, complies, and enters budget data’ performs statistical analysis of cash flow and budgets.

    7.      Analyzes revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels to ensure expenditure control.

    8.      Prepare clinic annual reports (OHSPD), UDS, PPS Reconciliation and Medicare cost reports as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.

    9.      Research and analyze financial data for any expansion or new business; creates, organizes and maintains database and spreadsheet programs by entering, verifying, and back up data; retrieves and organizes data into required reporting formats; collects, retrieves and organizes data to identify financial discrepancies and recommends solutions. Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

    10.  Oversee, in conjunction with independent auditors, preparation of annual audit, and assists with annual audit.

    11.  Identifies trends in financial performance and provides recommendations with members of the Finance Team for improvement to strengthen the organization structure by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management.  

    12.  Monitor, analyze and evaluate the billing/ collection of AR effectiveness. Recommends changes for improvement to strengthen collection, for AR days reduction as well as collection turn around days.

    13.  Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions. Ensures that all general ledger accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis. Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.

    14.  Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with budget and forecasting. Provide studies about trends and forecasts, explaining processes and techniques and recommending actions.

    15.  Manage financial statistics aspects and provides analysis and review of budgets of federal, state, and local government contracts and grants.

    16.  Works with program staff to prepare documentation for budgets for government contracts and other billable activities.  

    17.  Prepares and reviews budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.

    18.  Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications and coordinating information requirements.

    19.  Supports the Finance team by establishing, maintaining, and coordinating expected accounting and accounting control procedures.

    20.  Conducts internal financial audits and works to resolve accounting discrepancies.

    21.  Supports the organization by interacting with internal and external auditors in completing audits.

     

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

     

    1.      HIPAA compliance – responsible for remaining current and in compliance with all HIPAA regulations and requirements. Treats all member information confidential.

    2.      Compliance – Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.

    3.      QA/QI – Participate in QA/QI activities and contribute towards the overall performance improvement of the organization.

    4.      IT – Required learning and using the Electronic Health Records and Practice Electronic System and its components. As required by the job functions and highlighted in the Policies and Procedures.

    5.      All employees will participate in Patient Centered Health Home Model at Omni Family Health.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

     

    EDUCATION:

    Graduate from a four-year college with major in Accounting and/or Finance.

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum two (2) years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a Federal Qualified Heath Center, or five (5) years’ experience in accounting and finance, preferably with a non-profit organization.

     

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

    N/A

     

    SKILLS:

    1.      Knowledge of or experience with Abila MIP accounting software.

    2.      Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and procedures.

    3.      Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel and Access).

    4.      Knowledge and understanding the principles and techniques of budget preparation, administration, statistical methods, technical writing, and related record keeping.

    5.      Ability to communicate and maintain an effective working relationship with staff and funding agencies’ personnel.

    6.      Ability to operate independently, supervise personnel and train business unit personnel when necessary.
