Clark Street Overview Internship - Social Media & Editorial Internship - FALL 2018 This is an unpaid internship and candidates must be able to receive college credit. Company Overview Paper Source is a premier paperie and online retailer offering a unique selection of fine and artisanal papers, invitations and announcements, personalized and distinctive gifts, gift wrap, greeting cards, custom stamps, and a custom collection of envelope and cards. Paper Source offers an original aesthetic, with a color palette and proprietary designs that are developed and created exclusively by them. Paper Source is a vertically integrated multi-channel retailer whose high-quality products and crafting supplies are linked by a unique aesthetic and design-driven, do-it-yourself culture. It is operated in three segments retail, wholesale, and direct to consumer. We currently operate over 125 stores across the country and also have product in over 1,000 retail partner stores. Paper Source is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois and has a warehouse facility in Forest Park, IL, which holds finished inventory for stores, direct-to-consumer and wholesale, and a production area which houses the manufacturing operations of Paper Source proprietary product. Essential Functions and Scope of Responsibilities Support the Web & Marketing teams in all functions related to social media, public relations, marketing and e-commerce. Create original and engaging content ideas for the Paper Source blog and execute across other appropriate social channels. Support in the management and maintenance of Paper Source social communities including, but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube. Build Pinterest boards to promote seasonal product stories and support SEO efforts. Attends departmental strategy meetings. Assist with content needs related to email marketing, catalog copy, product descriptions and more. Develop understanding for editorial calendar and tracks to meet deadlines. Support ambassador outreach efforts, helping to targeting online influencers who can drive interest in the Paper Source brand, both online and at the local level. Support our Public Relations efforts with administrative tasks including media research, press archiving and communication and pitching needs. Conduct audits and research as needed. Skills Gained Experience in project management and team collaboration. Attention to detail and multitasking to mitigate sales risks. Assigned mentorship with department employee. Regular status meeting with departmental leaders. Develops an understanding of editorial calendar and campaign development. Requirements and Qualifications 30 hours per week or in accordance with college course requirements. Must be able to receive college credit. Must be at least 18 years of age and enrolled in your sophomore or junior year at an accredited college or university. Must be able to work from Chicago Headquarters. Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills; online writing experience preferred. Detailed oriented and self-starter. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook Career interest in social media, marketing, PR and/or e-commerce and retail. Candidate must display a positive, can-do attitude and be an active team player. Able to interact and engage with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Candidate acts as a brand representative when interacting with external business partners. Creative and innovative thinker. Candidate must have high degree of flexibility and a track record of quickly adapting to an ever-changing environment. Demonstrates problem solving skills. Effective organizational skills for managing multiple tasks at once.
