The Visual Merchandising Intern position is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in the fields of Visual Merchandising, Fashion and Social Media. We have very active social media sites with a strong customer interest in regular updates on store products and events. A large percentage of the job involves taking photos for our social media sites and upcoming promotions. As for displays: each Plato's Closet store is individually owned, so there are no corporate-driven displays. We have four large display walls, an entry mannequin display, a large display shelf behind the cash wrap and dozens of end-caps. Up to 50% of the job involves other retail responsibilities. Company Description Plato's Closet has over 400 stores nationwide, and each one is individually owned and operated. We are the largest retailer for on-trend resale clothing and accessories for teens and young adults. Responsibilities and Duties * Take and submit photos for use on the store's Instagram and Facebook pages. Create in-store photo opportunities with employees, merchandise and/or customers that would be suitable for promotions and marketing. * Work in conjunction with the Owner and staff to design display walls, end-caps and feature mannequin displays on a rotating basis. * Create and follow up on promotional ideas that link to visual merchandising within the store and/or social media. * Source "new product" ideas for the 2% of the store inventory that is "new." * Misc. Qualifications * Photography skills. * Strong familiarity with Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms. * Interest in fashion. * Visual Merchandising course-work and/or hands-on experience preferred * Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
