    Job Description

    Red Wing Shoe Company is excited to announce our 2026 Internship Program! The program is designed to offer you meaningful work that will prepare you for your career. You’ll get to see first-hand how our corporate teams develop strategies and practices that support our retail and manufacturing partners, and customers worldwide. Throughout the program, you’ll collaborate with fellow interns and teams across the business, learn from mentors who are invested in your success, and take part in activities that strengthen our culture and support the communities we serve.

    This position will offer a hybrid work structure. You will need to live within a commutable distance to Red Wing, MN as you’ll be working on-site 2-3 days per week. Standard work hours for this position are Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-1pm.

    Compensation is $25/hr.

    What to Expect:

    As a Product Merchandising Intern, you will assist the wholesale product and merchandising team in organizing, reviewing, and optimizing styles for the next launch season. Through this project, you will gain hands on experience in merchandising strategy, seasonal product planning, and sales presentation preparation within the footwear wholesale industry.

    As a Product Merchandising Intern, you will:

    • Assist in the start of the FW28 line to help ensure the product assortment aligns with consumer preferences, making it more appealing and relevant to buyers and end customers.
    • Prepare clear, well-organized line sheets, catalogs, and lookbooks that improve how products are communicated to wholesale buyers and elevate the customer experience across channels.
    • Conduct competitive and market research to ensure the FW28 line reflects current consumer trends, helping the brand connect with end consumers through products that resonate with their tastes.
    • Support merchandising strategy and presentation preparation to contribute to consistent, compelling messaging across all customer channels, strengthening our connection with buyers and consumers.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    We’re looking for students who meet the following requirements:

    • Currently pursuing a degree in fashion merchandising, marketing, business, retail management, or a related field.
    • Genuine interest in footwear, fashion trends, and product merchandising.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to analyze sales or product data and draw meaningful insights.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Coursework or prior experience in retail, merchandising, or marketing preferred
    • Exposure to product management, sales analysis, or fashion buying is beneficial but not necessary, training will be provided.
